Editor, President, Co-captain, Treasurer, Team leader, Fundraising chair, etc. These, and other titles like them, are appropriate to list on your college applications.
But what’s more interesting and potentially impressive is your answer to this question about each role—what did you do?
How did you impact the group? What did you accomplish? What did you initiate? What worked? What didn’t work? What did you learn? How did the group change? What legacy will you leave after you move on? Will you be missed? If so, why?
List the titles. But don’t forget the description of what you did.
And if you’re not yet applying to college, concentrate on the doing. The titles will inevitably follow.
