For seniors who’ve applied to college, you might have a final item on your application to-do list. Many colleges want an updated status report to see your grades from this current (7th) semester. Those schools will ask you to do one or both of the following:
1. Send an updated official copy of your transcript as soon as your 7th semester grades are available.
2. Send a “mid-year report,” a form from the application that your counselor fills out and sends to the college (this usually contains a copy of your transcript).
The only way to know whether or not your colleges require this is to visit their websites and (re)read their application requirements.
If you applied to schools using the Common Application, you can login to your application, click on “My Colleges,” and select a school. Scroll down to the list of required forms and check to see if “Mid-Year Report” is listed. Repeat for each school (thanks to Arun for this tip).
