Tim Ferris, author of The 4-hour Workweek, shares a few good productivity tips in this post. I don’t necessarily agree with everything Ferris writes, but his over-arching point here is a good one. Just because you’re busy doesn’t mean you’re getting anything important done. As he writes:
If you consistently feel the counterproductive need for volume and doing lots of stuff, put these on a Post-it note:
- Being busy is a form of laziness–lazy thinking and indiscriminate action.
- Being busy is most often used as a guise for avoiding the few critically important but uncomfortable actions.
