I wish every college admissions office were as open and clear as the University of Virginia is on its blog. This post about how they view test scores isn't just a recitation of their official, formal policy. They’re coming right out and telling applicants how the policy actually works in practice. It reads like a real human being talking to someone in a helpful, honest way. I can’t imagine any applicant reading that post and not feeling confident that they’ve gotten the straight scoop on UVa’s test score preferences. And the entire blog is written in the same fashion. Bravo, UVa.
