Conferences, fundraisers, and other events often have
one thing in common—the presenter spends a good chunk of time thanking seemingly
everyone who had any involvement at all.
When the thanks take up too much time, it loses the audience’s attention
and can even come off as inappropriately self-congratulatory for the
