When you have questions about a college’s application requirements, there are a lot of places to try to get that information—your counselor, a college guidebook, the Common Application, etc. Even your friends who are also applying—or who applied to the same school last year—can tell you.
But none of those sources can ever be as unfailingly reliable as each college’s own website (the info is almost always in the “admissions” section). Start there. Always. That’s why our Collegewise counselors personally visit the admissions site of each college their students are applying to, even if we’ve helped dozens of former students apply to the same school. You never know what might be changed year-to-year, or what information from other sources was once correct but is now out of date. You'll never get it wrong when you read and follow the college's own (current) directions.
When you need to know how many letters of rec to submit, which tests are required, how to schedule your interview, or anything else application-related, go to the best source.
