You could ask for the chance to earn earn extra credit when you need it, like when you fall a few points short of an “A” in a class. Or you could just be the kind of student who puts out the extra effort anyway.
Do you put your hand up in class and ask questions?
Do you arrive early to hockey practice and stay late working on your slap shot?
Do you sweep the floor at your part-time job even when you aren’t asked to?
Do you offer to take on the project in your French club that nobody else seems to want?
Do you pitch in just because you want to?
Successful people don’t wait until they need extra credit to do their best work. Do the work first and the credit will come later.
