If you’re applying to college this fall, you’ll want to know when the applications for your chosen schools are released, if an event is taking place in your area, or if there are any other pieces of news from the admissions office. Here are two good ways to make sure you’re among the first to know.
1. Formally request information.
Most schools have an electronic form you can fill out, like this one from Oberlin’s website, to request information about the school. Filling out one of those forms is the equivalent to raising your hand and identifying yourself as a prospective applicant who wants to stay in-the-know.
2. Subscribe to the schools’ admissions blogs.
Many colleges maintain admissions blogs, like this one at the University of Virginia. Reading the blog is good. Subscribing (to an Rss feed or for email updates) is even better.
