High school and independent counselors, is there a topic you’d like to see covered in a session at your next NACAC affiliate conference? If you tell us and we end up tackling that topic, we’ll thank you for your suggestion with a free 30-copy license of our new guide to the Common Application ($99 value) and one copy of our new book about how to help kids with college essays ($49.95 value).
We’ve been speaking at regional NACAC conferences since 2005 on subjects like college admissions basics for new counselors, how to help kids with college essays, and how to write more effective letters of recommendation. But we’ve always proposed sessions based on what we thought might be helpful. This year, we’re turning the topics over to you. Maybe there’s a challenge you’re having in your job, or a subject that never seems to get covered, or a recent change in admissions you’d like to learn more about? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear your idea.
Here’s what we’d like to try:
1. If there’s something you’d like to see discussed in a session, please tell us about it here.
2. If we get suggestions for a topic we feel we can deliver well, we’ll propose it to your conference. And if our proposal is accepted, you’ll win your counselor prizes.
3. Share this entry with any of your colleagues who might have suggestions of their own. We’ll be using the responses to gauge interest in each topic. You can email this post to your colleagues by sending them this link:
Thanks for your sharing your ideas with us. We hope to meet you at a conference next spring!
