I don’t like when high school kids are made to take career tests (I’ve posted about my dislike before), especially when they’re administered under parental pressure to identify a future career today for a seventeen-year-old. But if a student is genuinely interested in career exploration, it certainly can’t hurt to investigate potential paths.
The Princeton Review's career quiz is a good starting point. The test is free and only five minutes long, but when you get your results, you’re given the option to take a much more detailed 40-minute quiz offered by SSI (Strategic Solutions International) for $39.95. That quiz uses the Birkman Method, which is a semi-famous career tool many large corporations use.
Princeton Review also has a good search function to learn more about majors.
